Under new management!

We are excited to announce a few changes around here at the new Bar and Grill on Locke (formerly Bar on Locke).

After many wonderful years, Bar on Locke founder Ray decided to retire. 

New owner Peter Morrison, long-time friend of Ray's and owner of the Easy Restaurant in Toronto, has recently purchased the bar and restaurant.

Building on its well established success, Peter is making some great changes, such as adding new menu items (while still keeping the favourites), new equipment, and general updates of the restaurant (while keeping the same amazing quality and vibe!)

If you enjoyed the Bar on Locke, you're going to LOVE the new Bar and Grill on Locke!

We are particularly excited about a big new addition—brunch—every day!

About the Bar & Grill on Locke

The original Bar on Locke had become an established home-away-from-home for neighbourhood locals and visitors alike.

The Bar and Grill on Locke Hamilton is located in the heart of the newly-minted “Locke Street Dining District”.

What began in 1997, still serves up something for everyone—from Pad Thai to steak, together with daily soups, pasta, fish, and vegetarian features. Every delicious meal is prepared in-house and made-to-order—right down to the mayo, salsa, and dressings.

Not hungry? The Bar is also a cocktail hot-spot offering a wide selection of wines, draught and bottled beers, scotches and, of course, our traditional martini.

With the Bar’s convenient locale, cozy setting, familiar charm, warm lighting, gentle music, and historic Hamilton photographs— you’ll be a Locke Street local in no time!

With photographs dating as far back as 1950, The Bar and Grill on Locke has become a museum of sorts, showcasing the people, buildings, and events that have shaped our city.

All photographs are framed and available for purchase, take a piece of Hamilton history home!
